Having begun his career at sea as a cadet, Jason obtained a very traditional grounding in seamanship, navigation and operational practices which has been of great benefit throughout his time in the maritime industry.
He has spent time working on board a variety of vessels, from old fashioned cargo ships and sailing schooners through to modern container vessels, freight and conventional ro-ro ferries, to the ultra-modern high speed catamarans and cruise vessels.
This experience and knowledge benefited Jason greatly in obtaining his Master Mariners qualification, after which he moved across to the yachting sector as a Captain, enjoying the hands-on nature of the role on smaller yachts. The opportunity to move ashore and oversee the build of two superyachts as well as take part in yacht fleet management proved highly successful, and most recently Jason has taken on the role of operations manager within the management division of Ocean Independence.
