Yannis started sailing at the age of 20 after graduating from university as a mechanical engineer. He had no idea at that time that this would lead to a career in yachting.
After taking his RYA Yachtmaster qualification, Yannis moved into the yachting business as a sailing yacht Captain for five years and then another three years on motor yachts. This time proved an excellent yachting experience that led him into management and sales. For more than 15 years, Yannis was a sales broker for Sealine, Fairline and Princess in Greece before joining Ocean Independence as a senior broker in 2009. Yannis is an Eastern Mediterranean expert, understanding the Greek, Turkish and Arabic markets in depth. Based in Athens, with many years of experience and a vast network of contacts, he is the go-to person in this important region.
