Tom grew up sailing on the East Coast of the UK and later in the Balearic Islands. He studied Maritime Business at Southampton University after which he started his yacht broking career at Fox's Yacht Sales, which was then part of the Oyster Yachts Group.
He subsequently progressed into the Oyster Yachts Brokerage business at their UK headquarters. Forging a highly successful brokerage career at Oyster Yachts spanning more than 15 years with the company. During this period Oyster enjoyed rapid growth from 2008 onwards and made their debut into the superyacht arena with the Oyster 100 and the Oyster 125.
Tom had many roles at Oyster as a broker, ranging from Captain for sea trials worldwide, racing with clients in Oyster Regattas in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean as well as attending boat shows globally. These years gave him an insight into customer aspirations and dreams which were then translated into successful sales and long-term relationships with serious blue water sailors all over the world.
His expertise in the superyacht market is extensive, with a keen interest in motor yachts as well. Tom is an accomplished racing yachtsman and enjoys racing his classic yacht in the summer regattas.
In 2015 Tom embarked on a new challenge and became an F1 power boat circuit racer and competed in races in the Middle East, Europe and the UK enjoying great success as an entrant and driver.
Based out of the UK office, Tom brings with him a wealth of experience in the luxury yachting sector and is looking forward to engaging with clients and developing a personal and rewarding customer focused service with Ocean Independence.
Tom is married, has a young son and his family enjoy boating on the East Coast of the UK.
