NEET is the only national-level medical entrance exam in India for admission to various undergraduate courses such as MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, Veterinary, and others. It is conducted under the authorisation of the National Testing Agency (NTA). Before NTA took over conducting NEET, the exam was conducted by CBSE. NEET exam will be going to held on May 7, 2023, in 11 languages including Hindi and English. The exam covers more than 90,000 seats for the courses offered by many universities and colleges in MBBS and BDS all over India. With the release of the NEET 2023 official brochure, all the important details such as the type of questions, exam pattern, and others will be made available. Furthermore, with a reduction in the syllabus of board classes, the NEET question paper may include internal choices as well.

 

This year the examination will be conducted around India in thirteen languages. This year will also witness people taking NEET in Kuwait and Dubai. The NEET 2023 exam date has been announced. The NTA (National Testing Agency) is in charge of organising the NEET entrance exam each year. The NEET 2023 application process going to begin first week of April. 

 

NEET 2023: Latest News & Updates

  • In the month of May NEET UG 2023 entrance exam going to be held. The NEET 2023 will be conducted only once in offline mode. The application process going to begin in the month of April.

  • The NEET 2023 examination pattern would not change. It would remain similar to the previous year.

  • NEET 2023 examination syllabus would not be modified or reduced as of now. 

  • NEET 2023 will be held in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Urdu, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Oriya, Assamese, Kannada, and Telugu similar to last year. At the time of filling out a NEET 2023 application form, the applicants can select their preferred language.

NEET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the examination, candidates must first ensure that they meet the following NEET eligibility requirements:

  • Nationality: Indians, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals are eligible to apply.

  • Age: Candidates must be born on or before 31 December 2006. They should be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2023. There is no upper age limit.

  • Academic criteria: Candidates must have a 10+2 certificate or its equivalent from a recognised board.

  • Subjects: Candidates must have completed their 12th grade with physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, and English as subjects.

  • Marks Criteria: Candidates must have achieved at least 50% (45% for PH and 40% for SC/ST) in their qualifying examination.

  • Overseas Citizens of India: Starting from the year 2021, overseas citizens of India (OCIs) who aspire to take up the courses of MBBS or BDS are also eligible to sit for the NEET examination.

 

NEET 2023 Registration

National Testing Agency or NTA is expected to release the NEET 2023 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) application form on its official website soon. Candidates who want to apply for the national level examination must register on the NTA NEET 2023 official website in order to access the application forms. Candidates must provide a valid email address and mobile phone number in order to complete the registration process. Each candidate will be assigned an 'application ID' by the system. During the NEET 2023 registration process, they can create their own passwords. Candidates will be able to fill out the NEET 2023 application form online using these credentials.

 

After successfully filling in the NEET application form 2023, candidates should save and print the completed application form for future reference. Like the previous year, NTA is expected to release an offline application form for NEET 2023 for residents of Kashmir Valley, Leh, and Kargil. Applicants should be aware that this provision will only be available to residents of the Kashmir valley, Kargil, and Leh. Applicants from all other states must fill in the NEET 2023 application form online only.

 

How to Apply for NEET 2023?

  • Go to the official website.

  • Click on the tab named 'New registration'.

  • Fill out the application form with basic information such as your date of birth, category, mobile number, and so on.

  • Log in with your login credentials, which are your application number and password.

  • Fill in your exam centre preferences. You will be required to fill out three exam centres based on your preferences.

  • Fill out all of the necessary details carefully, including academic, personal, and other information.

  • After that, upload the necessary documents, such as a photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and 10th-grade mark sheet, among others.

  • Pay the application fee online.

  • Now press the 'submit button.

  • Double-check all of the details.

  • Take the printout of the confirmation page and save it for future reference.

 

NEET UG Application Fee 2023

  • All applicants must pay the application fee in order to complete the NEET application form submission process successfully.

  • Applicants can pay the NEET application fee online using a debit or credit card, Net Banking, or Paytm/ UPI/ Google Pay. NEET application fees are listed in the table below.

Common Service Centres (CSC) for NEET 2023

Candidates who do not have internet access can use the CSC services provided by the NTA. The following are the fees for CSC services:

NEET 2023 Correction Window

Applicants who successfully apply the NEET 2023 Application Form will be able to review their forms and make any necessary changes. The entire form correction process will take place online. NTA will not allow any other method of application form correction.

 

The correction window for NEET 2023 will open and candidates can make changes in the month of April.

 

NEET Exam Centres

Along with all the news and information, the National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the list of NEET exam centres as well on their official website. The list of NEET exam centres consists of all the cities where the medical entrance exam will be held. For the previous year, the number of NEET exam centres was over 3800 located all around India, Dubai, and Kuwait. Using your application number and password, you can look up the exam centres for NEET. Candidates' interests will be taken into account when filling out the NEET application form. The exam centres for NEET will be located in 543 cities across India and 14 cities abroad. The number of centres per state/UT is yet to be announced. However, you can take a look at the below table of NEET 2021 exam centres to form a fair idea of what to expect.

NEET 2023 Exam Pattern

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has set the exam pattern for NEET 2023. The NEET 2023 question paper will be available in 13 languages, including Gujarati, Hindi, Tamil, English, Marathi, Bengali, Urdu, Assamese, Oriya, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam and Telugu. The NEET question paper 2023 will be divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with 180 questions to be answered in three hours and 20 minutes. The NEET UG entrance exam will be held in an offline mode (paper-based) to choose medical students for MBBS and BDS programmes at the country's top medical colleges and universities.

NEET 2023 Syllabus

The NEET Syllabus 2023 includes three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The topics covered in these three subjects from Class 10 to Class 12 are included in the NEET 2023 syllabus. NEET Admit Card 2023

NEET 2023 admit cards will be released by NTA on their official website, in the second week of May, tentatively. Candidates must take a coloured printout of their NEET Admit Cards and affix their passport size coloured photograph to it. The details like the exam centre address, candidates’ name, roll number, etc. will be given on the admit card.

 

Candidates should check their details printed on the admit cards. In case of any discrepancy, they must report it to the authorities at the earliest and get it corrected before the examination. Candidates must go through the instructions to be followed on the day of the examination, as given on the admit card. It may hereby be noted that candidates failing to furnish the NEET admit cards at the exam centre will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. NTA released the final NEET answer key with the results.

 

NEET 2023 Exam Day Guidelines

Below is a set of exam day guidelines that candidates should follow on their NEET exam day. 

  • Reach the exam venue at least 1 hour prior to the exam time.

  • Carry admit card, ID proofs, and all other important documents.

  • Dress appropriately.

  • Read all the instructions given on the NEET question paper carefully before you start the exam.

  • Do not sign on the admit card beforehand.

  • Make sure you do not carry any of your electronic belongings to the exam centre. 

  • Do not talk to any other candidate during the exam.

  • Do not adopt any malpractice during the exam.

  • Keep calm during the exam.

  • Any form of eatable is not allowed in the examination centre.

  • No stationery items such as pens, pencils, calculators, etc. are allowed.

 

NEET Dress Code

  • Due to the prevailing situation of COVID-19, every candidate must wear a mask and gloves to the exam centre. Wearing masks is also mandatory for all parents accompanying their kids to the NEET exam centre.

  • Candidates should not wear fully covered shoes for the NEET exam. Sandals and slippers with a thinner sole are allowed at the NEET exam centre. Shoes are not allowed to be worn.

  • Full-length sleeves are not allowed at the exam centre.

  • Kurta pyjamas for males are not allowed.

  • Metallic accessories such as rings and pendants should be avoided or not be worn so as to allow easy handling of the procedure involving metal detectors.

 

NEET Result 2023

NEET 2023 result will be released on the official website of NTA. Candidates will have to log onto their registered accounts on the website of NTA to view and download their NEET 2023 scorecard. They will have to provide their roll numbers and date of birth for logging onto their registered accounts.

 

The Process to Check the Scores of NEET 2023

Candidates can follow the below-given steps to check the NEET 2023 scores.

Step 1: Visit the official website of NTA.

Step 2: Click on the tab “View NEET-UG 2023 Results”.

Step 3: You will be redirected to the candidate log-in webpage. Enter your date of birth, roll number, and the security pin displayed there.

Step 4: Click on the submit button.

Step 5: Your NEET scorecard will be displayed on the screen. Click on the ‘Print’ option and save the scorecard to download it.

Step 6: Take a printout of the NEET scorecard and save it for future reference.

 

NEET 2023 Merit List

The NEET 2023 merit list will be released in an online mode on the official website of NTA. Candidates’ names, NEET scores, All India Ranks, and their qualifying status will be displayed in the NEET merit list. Qualifying candidates will be notified of the counselling rounds on the basis of their ranks. Seats will be allotted to the qualifying candidates for admission to the medical and dental courses through the All India Quota and state quota, based on the respective rank lists.

NEET 2023 Cut off Percentile for MBBS/BDS

The Medical Council of India will declare the NEET cut-off percentiles along with the NEET 2023 results. Qualifying candidates will be eligible for counselling and admission to the medical and dental colleges of India. The cut-off trends of the previous years are to be followed by candidates so that they get an idea of the qualifying scores. The approximate cut-off percentiles based on the categories are tabulated below.

According to the cut-off released for NEET 2021, the candidates under the general category shall hold a score between 720 and 138, while the candidates who fall under the general PwD category shall have attained a score ranging from 137 to 122. On the other hand, candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category should have a score between 137 and 108, while the ones with PwD in the same should have scored between 121 and 108. Depending on the availability of seats after the counselling session pertaining to the aforementioned cut-off, the NTA may release another cut-off with lowered scores.

 

NEET Counselling 2023

Candidates who will clear the cut-off marks and percentiles of NEET 2023, will be invited for the NEET 2023 counselling rounds. The counselling process will be carried out in three stages, namely, national-level, state-level, and AYUSH counselling. The Medical Council of India will organise the National-level counselling rounds and qualifying candidates will get admission to the All India quota seats through this level of counselling. State counselling committees are appointed by the respective state governments to conduct the state-level NEET counselling for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses through the 85 per cent state-quota seats. The AYUSH counselling will be conducted for admissions to BHMS, BAMS, BUMS, etc.


The counselling dates are yet to be determined. The process of counselling shall include the following steps:

  • Registration – The registration for the NEET 2023 counselling is to be done online. The candidate will be required to provide the necessary information like the roll number, registration number, and more while filling out the registration form.

  • Payment of Fee – The candidate is supposed to pay the registration fee to complete the process.

  • Choice Filling along with Locking the Choices- The candidates will be asked to mention their preferred courses and institutes.

  • Thereafter the processing of seat allotment takes place during the counselling sessions depending upon the results.

NEET 2023 state rank lists will be released by the state counselling committees for admissions to the {state-quota-percentage} state quota and to all seats in private medical and dental colleges. NEET 2023 state rank lists are based on the marks obtained in entrance exams. Candidates can check the NEET 2023 state rank list on the official website or on our site.
The NTA will conduct NEET 2023 counselling at https://neet.nta.nic.in/. There will be two rounds of counselling for admission under All India Quota (AIQ), deemed and central universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC, and AFMC.
