The first salient topic in this chapter is comparing numbers, you have to learn how to estimate numbers by rounding off method and the use of estimation of numbers. 2. Whole numbers: This is the second chapter and you will learn the fundamentals of the whole numbers. There are 5 exercises in this chapter. The first topic is natural numbers. Here, you will learn about natural numbers and their properties, you also have to learn how to represent natural numbers on a number line. Be thorough with all the properties such as associative, closure, distributive, etc. 

3. Operation with natural numbers is the last topic in this exercise : Practice all the examples and solve the exercise questions. In the next exercise, you will learn about number lines. You will learn about number lines, and the numbers on a number line. You have to learn how to add and subtract on a number line, practice a few examples to understand the topic better before you start solving the exercise questions.

This exercise is fun to do and you will easily get interested in it. Learn the properties and be thorough with them. The next exercise is about all the properties of the whole numbers. Learn all the properties such as commutative, associative, etc. Learn their definitions, and go through a few examples. Learn about the commutative property of multiplication and also learn about the non-commutative property. Practice the examples and solve all questions from the exercise.

The last exercise in this chapter is patterns in whole numbers. In this exercise, you will learn about number patterns, their examples. You have to learn how to represent number patterns using dots, triangles, lines, rectangles, and squares. Learn the number pattern types and how to observe them. 4. Playing with Numbers: This is the third chapter and there are 10 exercises. This chapter is comparatively bigger than the rest but you can learn it easily with proper studying and practice. The next exercise in this chapter is the test of divisibility of numbers, in this exercise you have to learn divisibility rules. Exercise 7 in this chapter is very important and it is the prime factor. You have to learn how to find prime factors and know about prime factorizations. The 9th exercise is another salient topic, HCF and LCM, learn their definitions and formulas. You also have to learn how to find LCM and HCF by the prime factorization method and by the division method. Solve examples before solving and exercise questions, understand the concept and practice questions related to this topic. From the last exercise solve all the exercise questions and examples. 5. Basic Geometrical Ideas: This is the 4th chapter and there are 13 exercises.    The last exercise is on quadrilaterals, this is an important exercise and you have to learn it properly. Learn the types of quadrilaterals and their properties. 6. Understanding Elementary Shapes: This is the 5th chapter and there are 10 exercises. Measuring line segments is an important exercise in this chapter, you have to learn about line segments and its symbol. Learn the line segment formula and practice examples.
   Next, you have to learn how to measure a line segment and the construction of a line segment. Practice the exercise questions and prepare properly.
