Borne from a rich Italian heritage, Baglietto was founded in Varazze, Italy in 1854. Initially, Pietro Baglietto specialised in producing small fishing boats, but soon branched into the development of maritime recreation, and even built a yacht for Pope Leone XIII.
By the early 1900s he had begun to branch out into motorboats. Perhaps one of his most notable launches was that of GIUSEPPINA, the world’s first hydrofoil yacht, and at the time, the largest yacht built in Italy.
This innovative breakthrough triggered a wave of popularity and recognition for the company, going on to produce naval support vessels throughout World War I.
By the late 1900s, the shipyard had become renowned as a well-established builder of racing sailboats that grew to dominate the Mediterranean racing scene for many years, and the transition from wood to aluminium builds initiated their shift towards the future of yachting.
In the 1980s, the Italian superyacht brand began to produce the first superyachts in Italy, and to this day the shipyard is distinguished by its high standards of quality, style and innovation, delivering yachts that stand the test of time.
TYPES OF YACHTS
Baglietto specialises in producing both aluminium planing yachts and steel-and-aluminium displacement yachts, with their fleet ranging from 13-55m. The shipyard’s portfolio also includes yachts designed for longer crossings, combining speed and autonomy for maximum comfort.
They have a fleet consisting of eight models across 40-52m, and are also offering custom orders, across five ranges: Dom Line, T Line, Fast Line, Superfast Line and Custom Line.
