A seasoned maritime professional hailing from New Zealand, Allan left home at age 23 for his 'ocean experience', which subsequently lasted over 30 years.
Enjoying his fair share of time at sea, including years of racing yachts on the east coast of the USA and chartering in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, he is a vastly experienced yachtsman.
Commencing his nautical exploits as race crew and moving up the ranks to Captain, Allan travelled extensively. He completed many circumnavigations, as well as two expeditions to the Antarctic and on one of the first private yachts to transit the Northwest Passage from west to east. Captain of both private and charter yachts, he amassed valuable knowledge to take ashore when founding 37 South Ltd in New Zealand, providing a range of superyacht support services, organising charter operations and overseeing yacht management projects. After opening a Fraser Yachts brokerage office under the 37 South Flag, he continued to build a considerable base for South Pacific charter and local large yacht ownership over a busy 10-year period. In 2018, Allan spent two years cruising the east of Australia with his family on their Lagoon 500.
Bringing a host of skills to Ocean Independence, Allan offers clients his valued and trusted advice across the entire marine landscape.
