DAY TO DAY ITINERARY
Day One lysefjorden
Sail to Lysefjorden to see Prekestolen from the yacht – or the other way around! The Pulpit Rock (Prekestolen) is one of the most visited attractions in Norway, and one of the most photographed sites. To visit this popular rock formation, that raises 604meters over the Lysefjord, is a fantastic nature experience. Bring your hiking shoes! In fact, Prekestolen has been listed as one of the world’s most spectacular views and natural attractions by Lonely Planet and CNN GO Travel Magazine. Sail back to Vågen (Stavanger) and stay overnight. Dine aboard and stroll around this beautiful town.
Day Two - Three vagen to rosendal
towards Haugesund, but making time to stop at the Island of Hidle. At Hidle you will find Flor & Fjaere (Flor & Flow); a blossoming garden full of exotic plans and palm trees. Enjoy the peaceful tranquillity and colourful flowers - this is one of a kind in this destination. Next sail to the small town of Skudeneshavn, a charming typical Norwegian haven, with a quiet and a relaxed feel. Dine on fresh fish for lunch, caught by yourself with the help of our experienced crew. Then sail towards Haugesund, enjoy dinner on board while cruising at a gentle pace. Tonight you can experience the fantastic Nordic Light - it hardly ever gets dark! Wake up and have breakfast in Haugesund; feel the silence. It’s everywhere; in the streets, in the village, even inside coffee shops. No noise of engines on the fjord, only the Langoss waterfall cascading. Go hiking or find some Viking souvenirs in the city! With a length of 179 km cruise the famous Hardangerfjord, the third largest fjord in the world. Sail towards Rosendal this afternoon. Go night fishing with the crew or we can arrange a local fisherman to visit.
Day Four rosendal
Wake up near the tiny village of Rosendal this morning. With only 900 inhabitants, it is very peaceful. Enjoy a trip to Folgefonna Glacier by car or hire a helicopter from this spot. You may even like to go hiking if the weather is good. Stop at “Baroniet” on the way back. The Barony was the only one in Norway and created in 1678 by King Christian V of Denmark-Norway - a beautiful estate and manor. The palace is currently operated as a living museum with guided tours, concerts, lectures, theatre and art exhibitions. Day Five utne to ulvik
Leave Rosendal and cruise to the village of Utne this morning. Have lunch or coffee at Utne Hotel, one of Norway’s oldest, from the year of 1722. Visit the old Church of Utne (1895) or see the Museum of Hardanger close to the Port. Sail to Ulvik and experience the fresh and local fruit. Several farms close by open their homes for tastings! Go for a walk and you will find the beautiful Roykjafossen waterfalls or visit the lovely “Pallens Frue” shop. Remain at anchor overnight.
Day Six - Seven bergen
The next morning cruise towards Bergen. On your way, highly recommended is a short stop in Nordheimsund. Visit the Museum which is known for preservation and restoration of old wooden boats. Enjoy a coffee break at Nordheimsund Hotel, or enjoy local cuisine with Hardinglamb, griddle cakes, apple pies and cider. Hardanger is known for fruit of particularly high quality such as apples and cherries. Take a relaxed cruise onwards to Bergen. Stay at anchor south of Bergen or find a berth at the port for that evening. The port is five minutes walk from the wonderful Bryggen (The Pier), which is included on UNESCO’s list of world heritage cultural sites. Take an early visit to the famous fish market for the fresh catch of the day or perhaps lobster. Do the FlØbanen; an eight minute steep and fascinating journey by train to the top of FlØyfjellet (320m). Enjoy the panoramic view of the town of Bergen and the surrounding area from the top. There are wonderful walks and good trails plus quaint shops to enjoy before your onward journey to Bergen Airport.
