Explorers who arrived in Patagonia some 500 years ago described the area as exotic, wild and infinite in beauty - very little has changed today. The vibrant gaucho lifestyle and ranching history in Puerto Natales contrast against isolated natural treasures such as the Marble Caves and the jagged blue ice of Grey Lake. Alternatively adrenaline seekers are spoiled for choice with numerous watersports, ice field trekking and rafting.
Occupying the southern section of the Andes mountains as well as deserts, steppes and grasslands, Patagonia is blessed with two coasts - to the west on the Pacific Ocean and the eastern side towards the Atlantic Ocean. Populated by Chileans, Argentinians and Patagonians, this is a latino blend of friendly and hospitable cultures, with some indigenous communities speaking Mapuche dialect, but the official language mainly spoken is Spanish.

DAY TO DAY ITINERARY
Days One - Two puerto montt to tic toc bay
Embark in Puerto Montt (depending on time of arrival for movement either midday or day 2 early morning). Head for Tic Toc Bay/ Corcovado Volcano (approx. 100nm). The magnificent volcano surrounded by indigenous trees makes for a stunning backdrop which is a national park as well. Explore the local lagoons, fly fish with a local specialist and take in the breathtaking Andes mountains as your view. There is a chance you may see Magellan penguins, sea lions and a variety of birds. A helicopter trip can be arranged for a birds eye view of glaciers or to hike/ trek for the true adventurer.
Day Three auchemo bay
Explore by heli-kayak the White River and Corcovado River - some of the most untouched lagoons in this region. Likely a few dolphins will follow your trail. The Auchemo region is known for its wildlife and perfect for obtaining some of the best photography.
Day four piti palena fjord
Cruise 50nm to the Piti Palena Fjord. The wildlife exploration continues while this region also has natural hot springs to enjoy. The Palena River and Rodriguez lagoon are special points of interest for this area. Fishing, trekking and kayaking are all available and otherwise enjoy a cocktail in the Jacuzzi on the highest deck of PLAN B to appreciate the breath taking surrounding views.
Days Five - Six guateca archipelago
This natural preserve is thriving with tributaries and tenders are perfect to explore the area in. In Feb/ March you may spot Blue Whales, Humpback Whales and Orca or visits from plenty of other sea life in these protected waters. In the distance on the mainland of Chile you will have a view of La Junta Volcano.
Day Seven chonos archipelago
The vegetation in this area is almost overwhelming and worth the exploration. The landscape is so diverse and from one moment of subtlety comes a sheer rock wall or glacier across. From here there is a local airport, Puerto Aisen for the day of departure or the itinerary can lead back north to missed lagoons and treks for departure in Puerto Montt.
