NTA has released the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exam dates on its official website. JEE Main 2023 will be conducted on January 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31 and Session 2 on April 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, 2023. JEE Advanced 2023 expected to be conducted in the month of June. registration process is expected to start in the first week of December 2023, whereas JEE Main 2023 Session 2 registration process is expected to start in the first week of April 2023 and that for JEE Advanced expected to be in the month of may. Eligible candidates should register for the exams within the stipulated period. The complete details of JEE Main & JEE Advanced 2023 like registration, application form, exam dates, eligibility criteria, exam centers, admit card, etc. are discussed in the following sections.
Candidates aspiring to appear in JEE Main and JEE Advanced examinations in 2023, must note the important dates for registration, application fee payment, admit card download, exam sessions, results, etc. as tabulated below.
The official dates for JEE Main 2023 are yet to be released. However, we have provided the dates for JEE Main 2023 to help you prepare for the exam accordingly. You can check the table below to know the JEE Main 2023 exam dates.
JEE Main is likely to be on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of difficulty level when compared to JEE Advanced. You just need to be thorough with all the concepts of Classes 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (for JEE Main Paper 1), practice JEE Main previous year question papers and sample papers, and take JEE Main mock tests online to analyze your speed and weak areas.
This year, JEE Main is going to be held in two sessions- January and April.
Candidates completing 12th Board or equivalent examinations in 2020, 2021 and 2022 can appear in JEE Main 2023 without meeting any age criteria.
NTA will not provide any correction window for JEE Main application form 2023.
JEE Main 2023 will be conducted at 501 centres in our country and 13 centres abroad.
There will be negative marking for every incorrect answer in Section B of JEE Main paper 1 and paper 2.
The eligibility of JEE Main 2023 is defined by certain criteria such as the qualifying exams, passing marks, etc. The detailed eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2023 are discussed below.
1. Age Limit:
To appear in JEE Main 2023 exams, the age limit of the candidates is not announced by the authorities. The candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2021 and 2022 or appearing in 2023, irrespective of their age, can appear in JEE (Main) – 2023 examination.
2. Qualifying Examinations: Below is the list of the qualifying examinations listed by NTA for JEE Main 2023.
Senior Secondary School Examination with minimum 5 subjects, conducted by National Institute of Open Schooling.
10+2 final examination conducted by any state board or central board.
Intermediate examination or two-year Pre-Universtiy examination conducted by any recognized board or university.
Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
Final examination of the two-year long course of NDA’s Joint Services Wing.
Any Board or Public School or University examination in our country or in any foreign country, recognised as 10+2 equivalent examination by the Association of Indian Universities.
General Certificate Education examination at an A level or Advanced level.
International Baccalaureate Office’s (at Geneva) International Baccalaureate Diploma.
Cambridge University’s High School Certificate Examination.
An AICTE or State Board of technical education recognised Diploma of a duration of at least 3 years.
Candidates having done their Class 12 or equivalent examination from any Board not specified above or from any country outside India, will be required to produce a valid certificate from the Association of Indian Universities. The certificate should state that the examination they have cleared is equivalent to the Class 12 examination.
If the equivalent examination is not a public examination, candidates must provide proofs of having passed at least one public examination (Pre-University or Board) earlier.
NTA has declares that there will be no correction window allotted for JEE Main 2023 application forms. So, they must fill in all details carefully, at the time of registration.
To ensure the convenience of candidates appearing for JEE Main from all corners of the India and overseas, NTA has increased the number of examination centres, this year. JEE Main 2023 will be conducted at 501 examination centres in India and 13 examination centres overseas. Each candidate will be allowed to enter four choices for their preferred examination centres. Candidates are suggested to enter their preferences very carefully as there will be no window for making corrections once they submit their JEE Main 2023 application forms.
JEE Main 2023 question paper will be available in English, Bengali, Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu, Kannada, Assamese, Odia, Malayalam, Tamil, Marathi, Punjabi, and Telugu.
NTA has announced to conduct JEE Main 2023 in two phases, this year. The first phase to be conducted in the month of January and the second phase to be conducted in April. Check the table below for the exam dates of JEE Main 2023.
JEE Main Paper 1 is conducted for the B. Tech aspirants and Paper 2 is conducted for B. Arch and B. Plan aspirants. Each subject in JEE Main 2023 Paper 1 and Paper 2 Part I will comprise two sections. The first section (Section A) will consist of multiple choice questions whereas, the second section (Section B) will consist of numerical value type questions. Due to the reduced 12th Boards examination syllabus, there will be choice in section B. Candidates will have to attempt any 5 questions out of 10 from Section B.
According to the latest update from NTA, there will be negative marking for Section A as well as Section B of JEE Main Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates will have to enter the numerical value type answers using the virtual keypad on the screen and the mouse. Also, the answers should be rounded off to the nearest integer.
Candidates qualifying JEE Main will be considered eligible for JEE Advanced 2023. The exam schedule for JEE Advanced 2023 has been released by IIT Bombay. The exam to be conducted in the month of June and comprises two papers– Paper 1 and Paper 2 of three hours duration each. The JEE Advanced AAT 2023 paper will be conducted for 3 hours as well. There will be two shifts in which JEE Advanced will be held. The top 2,50,000 candidates qualifying JEE Main will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2023.

What’s New in JEE Advanced 2023?
As per the relaxation in the eligibility criteria of JEE Advanced 2023, candidates who appeared in 12th Board examinations in 2021 or 2022 for the first time, and registered successfully for JEE Advanced 2023, but failed to appear for Paper 1 and Paper 2, can directly apply for JEE Advanced 2023.
Candidates who have appeared in 12th Board examinations for the first time in 2021 or 2022 are eligible for JEE Advanced 2023, provided they fulfill certain conditions.

JEE Advanced 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates have to check the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2023 before applying for JEE Advanced 2023:
Nationality: All Indian nationals are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2023. Foreign candidates are eligible under 10% of the SNQ.
Age Limit: The students from the General & OBC categories should be born on or after October 1, 1998. Five years age relaxation is provided for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
Academic Qualification: Candidates should pass the Class XII exams for the first time in the year 2022/2023.
Subject: Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics should be mandatory subjects in Class 12th.
Number of Attempts: A candidate can attempt two times in two consecutive years.
JEE Main Performance: The candidates must rank among the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main rankings to attempt JEE Advanced 2023.
